I really enjoyed Loden Vision and the people I met. I wish I knew more about how much goes into all of this, the process was very demanding of time and the practice is only open weekdays as well so if complications arise its more time off and needing to go to the offices. Overall Im conflicted on if I would choose to do this again, but Im glad I did!-I work a job where I dont feel comfortable going back to work due to dry climate conditions and an unclean environment so I ended up being out of work for 3 weeks total during this process which is a long time. This includes the pre-procedure dilation appointment that has to be done at least 2 days before the LASIK procedure, your LASIK procedure, the follow up (24 hour) the day after your LASIK procedure, your one week follow up, and your one month follow up. So that is 5 office visits during week days and most require a driver.I developed a complication called DLK, and had to come back for another 1.5-2 week follow up visit and then go to CVS and get medicated drops and a steroid pack. I had to pay for them too, which is fine, but out of principle I paid the practice $3,200 for my LASIK and they couldnt cover $15 worth of medical items for a complication? This is again more time off of work to heal and go to a week day appointment, so Im now at 5 total visits during the week. I APPRECIATE THE TIME AND CARE THEY PUT INTO ALL OF THIS AND WOULD RATHER THEM TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS, it is just a lot of time to be available during the week so make sure you have two weeks as close to off/free as possible to fit all of this in and allow your body time to heal. Also a driver since you arent able to take yourself to the dilation, procedure and the day after. Every appointment takes about 30minutes to 2 hours, the dilation is 2 hours, and the procedure day is 2 hours/procedure was like 10 minutes. I was also never told my dilation numbers expired so I got all that done around Christmas and by the time it came for me to officially do my procedure, as I got the time off, my numbers werent valid past 90 days so I had to redo the dilation process. They did not charge me another $200 due to the miscommunication which was very nice of them, but it was inconvenient to take another day off with a driver to get me there and home for that 2 hour block of time.When I developed the DLK, I had asked if there was anything I could have done to prevent that and they told me its really rare, but it just kinda of happens , I guess it only happens to about 2-5% of procedures, which kind of sucks that it was me but they have been very helpful about helping me treat it. I was a little concerned, but they made me at ease throughout this diagnoses and the entire process. They have really helped calm any nerves, risks are very rare but they absolutely happen. Im very thankful for the practice and feel like I went with the absolute best of Nashville.
